Reel quilts are another pattern I showcase in my Patterns Through Time trunk show - here are 3 examples from my collection.
Reel quilt with swag/tassel border from Maryland, circa 1850. Great secondary design created by placing blocks on point without sashing.
Early Reel quilt, 1830s, again with interesting swag border, likely Eastern U.S. with unusual stripe used as the background.
Oak Reel circa 1850 with the "potholder" block reproduction, I made for Pam Weeks.

I wonder how many times I have put Borders on a quilt and had them turn out
just right?
Thanks to my Quilt Buddy, Lynn teaching me to measure first and use ...
