Love the paisley border print sashing and all the wonderful Turkey red and yellow prints and of course, the fabulous stamps, inking, etc. signatures. 1840s Delaware and Pennsylvania signature quilt - part of my Sign of the Times Signature Quilt Trunkshow.
Attended a lecture today by Jean Impey and she was working a lot with wonky stars, spiderwebs, and kite shapes. Made me want to look at kites in RR pattern. Thought you might looking at them too. Enjoy
Such a fun, bright, and happy quilt! Log Cabin quilt top. Circa 1875. Likely Pennsylvania. Starley Quilt Collection.
Auction listing: "This Courthouse Steps Log Cabin quilt top is one of the most dazzlingly vibrant you could wish for. The rich palette is dominated by ruddy, rusty tones of oxblood red and copper-toned madder browns, but fresh pops of green and tropical blue keep the heavily brick-toned composition from ever feeling too staid, and consistent use of raspberry-toned double-pinks and vibrant chromes yellows keeps the composition feeling lively and festive."
