Hello- I'm Sandra Starley and I'm an AQS Certified Quilt Appraiser. I'm also an avid antique quilt collector and love sharing my collection in antique quilt trunk shows and quilt classes. I delight in traveling and sharing my treasures. I'd love to come to your guild or show or shop. See pages below the header for more information.
HAVE ANTIQUE QUILTS - WILL TRAVEL!
Here's a detail of my circa 1850 Rose of Sharon Quilt - part of my Birds and Blooms Trunk Show.
And here's my reproduction of that same antique quilt. I love sharing quilt history by recreating quilts in my antique collection. I also teach classes in hand applique and paper piecing to create your own pieces of history.
Quilted Joy Too - made for the 2014 American Quilt Study Group, Civil War Quilt Challenge. Aren't quilt challenges fun!
You can find my patterns in my ETSY shop Textile Time Travels.
Antique cheddar orange quilts are among my favorites. Here's one from my collection - circa 1890 from Ohio,
And my miniature reproduction, Cheddar Stars (pattern available) Made for the 2010 American Quilt Study Group 19th Century Stars Challenge.
My collection specializes in unusual and early quilts and signature quilts in particular. I have a lot of antique signature quilts from the 1840s and 1850s. These quilts are time capsules and a beautiful way to learn American history.
