January Quilt - Island Batik - Step By Step Challenge - Little Blue Houses

Little Blue Houses
36" x 36"
Sandra Starley, 2022

I am having sew much fun designing with the new step-by-step Gradations fabrics from Island Batik. They are available now in yardage in several different color ways (each goes from very light to dark).

I got to work with the Brilliant Blues. Aren't they lovely!!!

I played with them and tried to figure out the best way to show off their beauty and recreate an antique quilt in my collection.

Here's a bit of the antique inspiration house quilt alongside the new quilt top.

  2. It is a beauty, Sandra! I really like the reversed values in the one block in the lower corner. Are these made using your foundation pieced pattern that was recently published?

  4. Love it! Houses are a favorite pattern of any color but what really blows me away is how you used your steps.
