Fussy Cutting -Antique Quilt
Fussy cutting is all the rage now but it is definitely nothing new and has been done for hundreds of years. Here's a wonderful example from the 1880s. Ships Wheel Block.
Enjoy. Be sure to click on photos to see the details.
I love the fly fabric in the first block and the greyhound and sword fighting stick figures (?!) in the 2nd one. Except for equipment (rotary cutters & rulers) and some materials (glue-on sparkle bits), it seems most of the newly popular things are re-visiting the old.
