Another Super Christmasy Antique Quilt Red & Green Princess Feather
Red and Green Princess or Prince's Feather Quilt - Four block set with teeny inner Sawtooth sashing and fun border. Makes me smile 'cause the feathers look like big pickles.
***Here's a huge trick for making a vine applique border work right -- put a circle in each corner and then each side of the vine can go join to the circle where ever it needs to and go from there.

Bethlehem Star, Red & Green Antique Quilt Extravaganza - Day 22
Can't celebrate the holidays and the Red and Green festival without a Star of Bethlehem. This one is unusual for a couple of reasons, one is the interesting appliques including snowflake shapes, another is the pattern background which blends in with the lighter star fabrics. Sandra Starley Quilt Collection.
Look at these delicious early fabrics, 1830s and early 1840s.

Red & Green Antique Quilt Extravaganza - Day 20 Rolling Stone quilt
Rolling Stone signature quilts were very popular in German communities in South Eastern Pennsylvania in the 2nd half of the 19th century (1850-1900). This one is in my collection, Sandra Starley Antique quilt collection and is part of my Antique Signature Quilt Trunk Show as well as my Quilts Stars, Quilt Masterpieces, and Patterns Through Time Lectures/classes.
Here's a close-up of the fabrics and the block for Levi G. Laudermilch. Likely the next generation was using the surname Laudermilk.
This quilt is the only one I've seen so far with an alternating star block.

Red & Green Festival, Antique French Star, Day 17
Such and elegant red and green quilt, this French Star hails from Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania. Part of the Sandra Starley Antqiue Quilt Collection and shared in my Patterns ThroughTime Lecture as well as my Antique Stars, Quilt Masterpieces Trunk show or quilt study class.
An uncommon pattern, likely due to the fussy piecing and expert skills required to make the pattern.
Isn't that border the perfect finish!
